Atlanta craft beer — Frequently asked questions
What is the best craft beer neighborhood in Atlanta?
The BeltLine corridor is where most of Atlanta's modern craft scene lives: the Westside Trail (Monday Night Garage, Wild Heaven) and the Eastside Trail (New Realm, with Three Taverns Imaginarium two blocks off the trail). The Westside (Scofflaw, Round Trip) is the production hub. For a true beer-bar finale, head east to Decatur and Brick Store Pub, with The Lost Druid in neighboring Avondale Estates.
Can you visit several Atlanta breweries in one day?
Yes, but Atlanta is sprawling, so you'll need rideshare. A solid one-day route: start at SweetWater (near Lindbergh, lunch), rideshare to New Realm on the Eastside BeltLine, walk or bike the Eastside Trail south to Three Taverns Imaginarium, then take MARTA from Inman Park/Reynoldstown to Decatur and finish at Brick Store Pub. That's 4 spots in about 6 hours, all very different in vibe.
Is there public transit between Atlanta breweries?
Partially. MARTA covers downtown, Midtown and Decatur reliably (Brick Store is a 2-min walk from Decatur station, and The Lost Druid is about 10 minutes on foot from Avondale station). For SweetWater, the Westside breweries (Scofflaw, Round Trip), Monday Night and the BeltLine spots, you'll need rideshare or a bike on the BeltLine itself. Plan on $8-15 per Uber leg between brewery clusters.
Is the BeltLine actually walkable between breweries?
Yes. The Eastside Trail connects New Realm to Ponce City Market in 5 minutes on foot, and Three Taverns Imaginarium is two blocks off the trail further south. On the Westside Trail, Monday Night Garage and Wild Heaven are a couple of minutes apart. Bike rentals make it faster.
Which Atlanta breweries are open on Mondays?
Round Trip and The Lost Druid are closed on Mondays. Reliable Monday picks: SweetWater (from 11:30am), Monday Night Garage (from noon, yes, on Mondays), New Realm and Wild Heaven (from 11am), Scofflaw (from noon), Halfway Crooks and Three Taverns Imaginarium (from 4pm) and Brick Store Pub in Decatur (from 4:30pm).
